Russell Westbrook was given an ugly 78 overall rating on NBA 2K23. Russell Westbrook has the fourth-highest NBA 2K MT ratings of the Los Angeles Lakers. Westbrook obviously is behind LeBron James as well as Anthony Davis but he is even further behind his most recent teammate as well. The folks over at 2K have given Patrick Beverley a 79 overall rating, which is probably fitting for where he is at in his career.

Westbrook however, is has been tied with Kendrick Nunn and is slightly higher than the likes of Thomas Bryant and Lonnie Walker IV. This is a significant loss of grace for Westbrook however, it's 100% justified. Westbrook fans will be furious with this rating and use this box-scoring as the primary reason why his rating is likely to be in the 80s to mid-80s. Anyone who was able to watch Lakers basketball last season is aware of the lies that this box score is, and how poorly Westbrook did last year.

The former MVP has been little overrated when comes to being a winning player (he has only won one postseason series after Kevin Durant left OKC) but it was impossible to deny his athleticism and talent. It could be a good thing to translate to 2K even if it doesn't translate to winning basketball in actual life.
